年末以来の更新になってしまい、申し訳ありません。
このサイトのキャラクター「なるせちゃん」の新ビジュアルを書いていて、つい夢中になってしまったのが理由です。
まだ描きかけではあるんですが、載っけておきますね。

さて、お絵描き報告はここらへんまでとして、今年1発目のネタは「オーパーツ」についてです。
この単語だけなら聞いたことがある人も多いと思いますが、具体的な話はそこまで知られていないかもしれません。
知れば知るほど面白い都市伝説のひとつなんですが、今回はこの「オーパーツ」について、ざっくりと書いていきます。
ゆっくりしていってね〜
1.オーパーツとは？
日本語では「時代錯誤遺物」とも言われる、「明らかにその時代にはそぐわない物」のことです。
例えば、旧石器時代の遺跡からスマホが出土したなら、まさにそのスマホはオーパーツということになります。
旧石器時代にスマホを作る技術なんて、どう考えても無いわけなので。
今のは極端な例えですが、世界各地で「どう考えても、当時の技術では作れないだろう」というオーパーツが見つかっています。
以下に、いくつか実例を書いていきます。

2.実際に見つかったオーパーツ
2-1.アンティキティラ島の機械
ギリシャのアンティキティラ島付近にある、沈没船から見つかったオーパーツです。
一見、その辺の機械部品にしか見えませんが、なんと紀元前150〜100年頃のものと推測されています。
この歯車には3500単語を超える長い文章が刻まれており、さらにはとても複雑な造りになっているとのこと。
気になるのはその正体ですが、これは主に天体観測を行うために作られた、歯車式の機械の部品だったそうです。

2-2.デリーの鉄柱
インド・デリーにある鉄柱で、長らく「どういうわけか錆びない」ということから、オーパーツとして知られてきました。
鉄は時間と共に錆びていくものですが、この鉄柱は作られてから1500年以上経つにも関わらず、この通り錆びていません。
「本当は鉄じゃないんじゃないの？」と疑いそうになりますが、実際には純度99.72%の純鉄です。
この純度の鉄は、通常わずか50年で錆びると言われています。
それなのに錆びないとなれば、今では失われた高い技術が使われているのか、1500年モノというのがガセネタなのか。
色々と調査がされていますが、どうも1500年モノなのは本当で、錆びにくいのはリンという成分が関係しているようです。
細かい話は省きますが、鉄柱は環境や製造過程でリンを多く含み、このことが錆びにくさを実現しているという見方があります。

2-3.トルコの古代ロケット
3000年ほど前に作られたとされる、トルコで見つかったオーパーツです。
ロケットのような形をした彫刻で、乗組員(宇宙飛行士)のような人物まで一緒に彫られています。
人類が初めて有人宇宙飛行をしたのは、1961年のこと。
まだ60年程度しか経っていません。
3000年も前に人類が宇宙に行けていたとは、にわかに信じがたい話です。
しかし、考古学研究家のゼカリア・シッチンが描いたイラストを見ると、やはりロケットに人が乗っているようにしか見えません。

このオーパーツの正体は未だわかっておらず、「神を祀るため」という推測しかありません。

2-4.水晶髑髏
インカ帝国やマヤ文明といった、中南米で作られたとされるオーパーツです。
水晶で作られた骸骨の彫刻で、伝説がいくつか語り継がれています。
- 太陽の光を浴びると虹色に光る
- 下から光を当てると、目の当たりに光が集まる
- 世界中の水晶髑髏を全て集めると、宇宙の謎が全てわかる
- そもそも宇宙人が持ってきた
などなど。
驚くような伝説がいくつもありますが、それよりも驚くべきは「製作の難易度」です。
まだ機械が無かったであろう古代文明では、手作業で作られたと考えられます。
とはいえ、水晶を手作業で骸骨の形にしていくには、なんと300年以上かかってしまうとのこと。
このことから「とてつもない難易度の作業を、一体どうやってクリアしたのか」という謎が残ったわけです。
しかし調査の結果、機械で研磨された跡が見つかり、「近代に作られた偽物」という残念なオチがつきつつあります。
？？？「クリスタルスカルが見つからなかった？なぁ〜にそのうち見つかるさ！」(デ○ズニーのアトラクションで聞いた気がする)
3.オーパーツは他にもたくさん
今回はここまでにしますが、オーパーツは他にもたくさんあります。
また4、5個ずつで取り上げていこうと思います。
