どうも。

つい先日、「ロシアで受けたカルチャーショックをまとめてみた」というネタをお送りしました。

もう十分に紹介しきったはずだったんですが、

あ、3〜4個書き忘れてた…

まだいくつかネタが残っていることに今更気付きました。

そこまで需要はないかもしれませんが、ぜひ紹介しておきたいので書いておきます。

1.横断歩道は車が来ていても渡る

カルチャー”ショック”とも違うかもしれませんが、日本と違う点ということでひとつ。

前々から聞いてはいましたが、ロシアは驚くほど歩行者優先のルールが遵守されている国です。

「信号の無い所が多いから」というのもあると思いますが、横断歩道を渡ろうとすれば、車はみんな止まってくれました。

車が来ないタイミングを待ち続ける必要は全くないようで、猛スピードで車が来ているのにスマホを見ながら堂々と横断する人も。

毎回はねられないか心配だったものの、車が来ていても渡ろうとすることが、何よりの意思表示になるようです。

2.ひとり飯はタブー？

※これは北朝鮮国営レストランでの話なので、厳密にはロシア文化によるカルチャーショックではありません。

ウラジオストクにある北朝鮮国営レストランに行った時のこと。

お店には韓国人客もいたんですが、1人で食事をしていると「こいつマジか…」みたいな顔で見られました。

もちろん、最初は自意識過剰かなとしか思わなかったんですけどね。

しかし、管理人の横を5回ほど通過したその人は、毎回同じような顔でこちらを見ていました。

どうもこちらの自意識過剰ではなく、実際に「こいつマジか…」の5コンボだった模様。

うーん、自分はただ1人で黙々と食事していただけなので、なんとも不思議なもんです。

気になって調べたんですが、「韓国ではあまり1人で外食をしない」ということが理由だとわかりました。

もちろん、こちらの1人飯が原因で奇妙がられたと確定したわけではないですが、可能性として1番ありえるでしょう。

2000年代初め、友人から、「ひとりでごはん食べるの？　韓国ではやめたほうがいいよ。ひとりでごはんを食べている人は友だちがいないとか、なんか“事情”がある人だと思われて不気味がられるから」と忠告されたこともある。

いやあ、この程度の話でよかったです。

「まさか、とんでもないマナー違反でもしてしまってたんじゃ…」と不安だったので。

韓国ではタブー視されてきた1人飯。

最近でこそ、あまりタブー視されなくなってきたようですが、それでも少しは「変なヤツ」に見えたのかもしれません。

ロシアで日本人が韓国文化によるカルチャーショックを受けたという、ややこしいお話でした。

3.フードコートでは片付け不要

フードコートにて

フードコートをはじめ、セルフサービスの外食スタイルは世界中にあることでしょう。
日本なら、食後は自分でゴミとお盆を片付けるのが当たり前なはず。

そのつもりで利用していたんですが、なんとロシアでは片付ける必要がないんだとか。

というのも、ロシアの場合は片付けをするスタッフがいるため、ゴミをお盆ごとテーブルに放置して帰っても、何ら問題ないそうなのです。

ロシア旅行を取り上げたサイト曰く、むしろそれが普通とのこと。

そのことを知らなかったので、「ゴミ箱なくない…？」と焦りつつ、お盆片手にフードコート内を放浪してしまいました。

おそらく現地の方からすれば、「お盆にゴミ載っけた変な外国人がウロついてんだけど…」という映り方をしたでしょうね。

周りを見ると、みんな確かにゴミとお盆を放置して帰っていたので、自分もそうすることで事なきを得ました。

ちなみに最近ではゴミ箱の設置が進み、自分で片付けるスタイルが浸透しはじめているとも聞きます。

また、日本のフードコートでもゴミを放置して帰ってしまう外国人がたまにいますが、あれはマナーが悪いのではなく知らないだけだったんだなと気づきました。

4.クラクションを鳴らすハードルが低い

観察してると、さほどの問題じゃなくても鳴らしてたような…

大通り沿いを歩いたり、路線バスに乗ってみたりしましたが、どこに行っても頻繁にクラクションの応酬が繰り広げられていました。

前に停車中のバスがちょっと邪魔というだけでも、後続のバスがクラクションを約20連発していたほどです。

日本なら「無闇に鳴らさない」というのが普通ですし、そもそも仮免(だったか本免)の筆記試験でも答えさせられることですよね。

とにかく、我々日本人にとっては考えられないレベルでクラクションを活用することに驚きました。

なぜドライバー同士が喧嘩している動画のほとんどがロシア製なのか、その理由を知れたような…(多分ドライブレコーダーの使用率が高いのもあるけど)

5.オチ

もしクラクション鳴らしまくって、前の車からブチ切れたヒョードルみたいな人出てきたらどうやって勝つつもりなんだろう
