地方に生まれて良かったこと・悪かったこと

「地元でドルヲタしたら○○だった話」でも話した通り、自分は北海道の東側にある地方都市生まれです。

住んでいた頃は20万人いるかいないか程度の街だったんですが、
高校卒業までの間長く住んで、良いと思ったこともあれば悪いと思ったこともあります。

そこを少しまとめて書いていきます。後半には、ヲタ活をするならどうなのかという点も触れています。

地方都市への移住を考えている方の参考になれば幸いです。

1.良かったこと

1-1.最低限の生活には困らなかった

やはり20万人(当時)ぐらいの人々が住む規模なだけあって、普通に生活を送る分には不便しませんでした。

最低限生活に必要な物が整っているからです。
家から100mぐらいの範囲にコンビニがいくつもあったし、薬局やスーパー、古本屋、カフェもありました。

急に生活必需品を切らしても、すぐに買いに行けてしまいます。
都心の入り組んだ住宅地の奥に住むよりも、断然便利だと思うほどでした。

1-2.他の都市や地域に難なく行けた

飛行機で東京や札幌に向かうなら郊外の空港が使えたし、その他遠方への特急列車や高速バスも毎日何往復と走っていました。

もっと何もない所なら、まずその乗り物に乗るまでに時間をかけて移動する必要があるじゃないですか。
ありがたいことに、そうしなくても良い程度には中長距離移動の発着地点として機能していました。

1-3.ラジオの距離感がかなり近かった

(超個人的な話で申し訳ないです)
とりあえずはラジオ局がしっかりある街で、ここも良い点だと思います。

放送範囲が広いラジオに比べて、パーソナリティや番組内容とリスナーの距離が近かったですね。
範囲が狭い分地域密着型の要素が強いので、近所のお店がインタビューされてたりなんてことがよくありました。

そのラジオでセールやイベントを知って、行ってみようかなってぐらい近さを感じてました。
番組へメッセージをいつも送っている常連リスナー達も、ラジオ局のイベントでパーソナリティと話し込むというのが珍しくない環境でしたね。

ラジオって、テレビよりも発信する側と受信する側の心理的な距離が近いなんてよく聞きます。
やはりそれが顕著に現れていて、ラジオ好きに拍車がかかったのも地方出身だったおかげです。

2.悪かったところ

2-1.車がないと困る

電車の本数が少ない上、路線も少ないとなると、徒歩圏内へ気軽に行くには車が不可欠です。
完全なる車社会なので、所有しておく必要がイヤでも出てきます。

でも、持ったら持ったで維持費がかかるじゃないですか。
趣味や生活費に使えるお金が削られてしまうので、これは困る点です。

2-2.人生の節目で転居を考えがちになる

やはり大学や企業が多くないので、自ずと自分に合った場を探すとなると転居を考えがちになります。
自分も進学のために地元を離れた1人です。

自分の希望を出来る限り実現するにはこちらから動かざるを得ないので、地元愛が強い人ほど辛いと思います。

2-3.閉塞感を感じる

人によって感じ方が異なるとは思いますが、自分としては閉塞感を感じてしまいました。
テレビで出てくる名店やイベントを見ても、遠く離れた都会での話ばかりなので蚊帳の外状態に思えましたね。

外を歩けば知り合いに出くわしたり、後から「○○にいたでしょ」と言われることが多かったです。
生活圏が狭いからそうなるのは百も承知だし、絶対的に悪いわけでもないです。

しかし、それが閉塞感を感じさせることにも繋がっていましたね。
内輪で仲が深まって、そこに温かみを感じる部分もありました。

3.肝心のヲタ活はどうなのか

3-1.アニメのヲタ活は普通に出来る

アニメヲタクをするには何ら困りませんでした。
声優イベントにでも行かない限り、ほぼ場所は関係ないからですね。

もはやネットさえ繋がっていれば楽しめるので、僕の地元に限った話ではないですね。

3-2.アイドルのヲタ活は…

地元にもアイドルが少人数ながらいたので、地元メインで推すならバリバリヲタ活が出来ます。
そうではなく東京のアイドルがメインだとどうしても不便になってしまいますが、全く出来ないわけでもないです。

近くのイオンにあるヴィレヴァンでQuick JapanとかIDOL AND READが置いてあるからなんですけどね。
手に取れる位置にある嬉しさや、少し見て買うか買わないかを判断できるのがいいんじゃないかと。

僕みたいに何週間も連続で推しの出てるページばっかり読んで、結果忘れられずに買って、家に持って帰ってウキウキっていう楽しみ方をしたい人も、少なくないと思うんです。

それが出来ていたので、遠征しない限り在宅状態なものの楽しめなくもないです。

4.オチ

物質的な豊かさって不平等だなと思った
